Which vibe coding tool should you pick?

This guide helps you choose a tool and shows what each one costs. The tools below work in three ways: some build the whole app, some sit inside a code editor and some take on a whole task. Here is what fits each kind of builder, with prices.

  • If you have never coded and want a working app online: Lovable and Base44 have free plans and build the whole app. Lovable Pro is $25 a month and Base44 Starter is $20.
  • If you want building, a database and hosting in one workspace: Replit has a free plan, and Core is $20 a month.
  • If you want to try an idea in a browser for free: Bolt has a free plan with 1M tokens a month, and Pro is $25.
  • If you want web and mobile apps, or screens on Vercel: Emergent builds web and mobile apps (free plan, Standard $20). v0 builds screens and web apps on Vercel (free plan, Plus $30 per user).
  • If you want the app, domain and email from one company: Hostinger Horizons, now part of Hostinger AI Builder, is $12.19 a month on a 1 month plan.
  • If you already write some code: Cursor and Devin Desktop both have free plans. Paid plans start at $8 and $20 a month.
  • If you want to hand a whole task to an AI: Claude Code comes with Claude Pro at $20 a month. Codex has limited free use, and Go is $8 a month.

Prices are as of 20 October 2026 and can change. Confirm the price with the company before you buy.

Who is this vibe coding guide for?

This guide is for anyone with an app or website idea who wants to build it without writing every line of code, and for developers who want an AI to do part of the work. It covers 11 tools in three groups: tools that build a whole app, tools that work inside a code editor and coding agents you hand a task to.

It covers what each tool costs, which have a free plan and what you pay when you use more. New to the idea? Read what is vibe coding first.

If you make an AI app builder or coding tool: when someone asks ChatGPT which vibe coding tool to use, does it name yours? Check it free with the AI visibility checker or submit your tool to be considered for this page.

Which one fits you and your budget?

If you have never coded

Lovable, Base44 and Replit build the whole app from a description and have free plans. Hostinger Horizons suits people who also want a domain and email from the same company.

If you want a cheap start

Eight tools have a free plan: Lovable, Base44, Replit, Bolt, Emergent, v0, Cursor and Devin Desktop. Paid plans start at $8 a month on Cursor Plus and ChatGPT Go. Hostinger costs less on long plans. Base44, Replit, Emergent, Devin Desktop and Claude Pro are $20.

If you work in a team

Lovable has unlimited users on every plan. Base44 includes multi-user editing on every plan. Bolt Teams is $30 per member, and v0 is priced per user or seat. Devin Desktop Teams is $80 a month plus $40 per full dev seat.

If you already write code

Cursor and Devin Desktop put AI in the editor. Claude Code and Codex take a whole task and work through it.

What do the free plans give?

Yes. Lovable, Base44, Replit, Bolt, Emergent, v0, Cursor and Devin Desktop all have a free plan, and Codex has limited free use. Claude Code is not on Claude's Free plan. Here is what each free plan gives.

  • Lovable: 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month.
  • Base44: 25 message credits and 100 integration credits a month, and up to 5 apps.
  • Replit: daily Agent credits up to a monthly cap, and one published app.
  • Bolt: 1M tokens a month, with Bolt branding on your sites.
  • Emergent: 10 credits a month.
  • v0: $5 of one-time credits for new users, and 7 messages a day.
  • Cursor: limited agent and chat requests.
  • Devin Desktop: a light quota for agents, plus unlimited inline edits and Tab completions.
  • Codex: limited use in the desktop app on the Free plan and on Go.

A free plan is enough to try a tool. Daily limits and branding on your site show where it stops.

What costs extra on top of the plan price?

Check the limits as well as the headline price. Prices are as of 20 October 2026.

  • Credits and tokens. Lovable, Replit, Emergent and v0 let you buy more credits. Lovable top-ups last 12 months, and v0 purchased credits last one year. Bolt counts tokens, and unused tokens roll over on Pro. Codex credits extend use past your plan limits.
  • Other companies' models. Cursor bills models from other companies on top of the plan at their list price. Devin Desktop bills extra usage at each model's API price. Claude usage credits are paid at the standard rate Anthropic charges developers.
  • Services you connect. On Base44, services such as Stripe, SendGrid or OpenAI bill you directly. On Lovable, apps with heavy traffic can use more of your credit balance for hosting.
  • Seats. v0 is priced per user. Bolt Teams is per member. Devin Desktop Teams is $80 a month plus $40 per full dev seat.
  • Branding and domains. Bolt adds its branding to Free sites. Lovable removes its badge on Pro. Base44 and Hostinger include a free domain for the first year on paid plans.
  • Billing term. Yearly billing is cheaper on most tools: Lovable gives 2 months free, Base44 saves 20%, Bolt saves up to 28% and Replit saves up to 10%. Hostinger's 48 month price is much lower than its 1 month price, and it rises when the plan renews.

What should you ask before you buy a plan?

Put these six questions to any tool before you buy.

  1. What does the price count? Credits, tokens, messages or seats. Work out how much you will build before you choose a plan.
  2. What happens at the limit? Some tools pause, some wait for a reset and some bill extra. Find out before a deadline.
  3. Can you take your code with you? Look for GitHub sync or a code export, so a plan change does not lock your work in.
  4. Who can log in and see what? An app can work on screen and still need a check on who sees whose data. If nobody on your team reads code, ask a developer to review it before real customers arrive.
  5. What is billed separately? Payments, email, AI models and outside services often bill you directly.
  6. Does the price change after the first term? Check the renewal price, especially on long plans.

Vibe coding suits prototypes, personal tools and simple sites. If the app holds customer data, takes payments or handles health, legal or financial details, have a developer review it before launch, and use a payment provider so you never store card details yourself.
